Dear Bayou Vista Friends:

Words cannot express our sincere gratitude for all the love and support shown at Russell's benefit. Our families were simply overwhelmed. We honestly had no idea how deeply Russell touched so many people. The community opened its arms up and embraced our family during this tragedy like nothing we have ever seen before. You will never know how appreciative we are for the care, kindness and generosity shown by the entire community.

Thank you to all those who spent countless hours on the telephone, selling tickets, taking tickets and money, getting auction items, cooking, serving, cleaning, playing music, and preparing for such an extraordinary event. Thanks to all the donors, businesses and buyers that gave unselfishly. You all will always have a very special place in our hearts.

Russell was a man of simple means with a heart of gold and compassion for his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all of us who loved him; however, his smile, his uncanny sense of humor, his robust laugh, and those little idiosyncrasies will live within our hearts forever.

Thank each and every one of you again for the love that has been showered upon our family.

Mrs. Betty Belcher

The love and support shown Sunday, and throughout the process of the Russell Belcher Benefit was unbelievable!  The turnout was beyond any of our expectations and it is greatly appreciated.

We thank all the participants who gave time and donations to this cause.  A thank you to all of those who participated Sunday from Bayou Vista, Omega Bay, the entire county, Huntsville, Houston, Conroe, Katy, and Louisiana connections, and friends and families from other areas.  We thank the businesses and individuals for each and every donation, all the people who helped with food and beverage preparation, each individual who helped in any way with organization, set-up, clean-up, ticket sales, etc.  The list goes on and on.  Anyone who knows someone that participated, but does not have access to the message board, please pass along thank you to them for us.  We certainly don’t want to exclude anyone who helped in any way with this benefit as any and all help, donations, or act of kindness has been appreciated.

As was said to me Sunday, “there are no words that can be said or written that’s sufficient to express the heartfelt thank you”.  All we can say is thank you and what a great community!!

(This heartfelt thank you is posted by request of, and on behalf of Sandi and Hali Belcher and Family and Friends of Russell.)

Friends and Family gathered to hear our local group Onefor5 play
and to chow down on some great BBQ Dinner.
Then the fun started with auctioneer Mickey Grove
finding the highest bidder for all the great donated items.

Friendly folks Patty Grove & Kathie Franks
 selling tickets at the entrance.

The line was worth the wait for the BBQ dinners.

Serving up food were some of the girls (Michelle & Amanda) we miss seeing at the Texas Big Daddy's.

Becky Morecraft did a fantastic job
 of keeping everything organized.

Just a peek at some of the great stuff that was donated.

SEEING DOUBLE! Jennifer Moga with her twin sister Jill
and Leanna & Adrianna,  twin daughters of Richard & Vanessa Matala.

Kenny Nigrelle trying on his new items
